We effectively work towards reducing emissions with improved energy efficiency.
In 2009 we focused on drawing more attention to forests, the main source of our raw materials. After all, without trees there is no paper.
In most of our subsidiaries, we organized trainings for our customers, provided explanations for the main certificates (from Blue Angel to Carbon Footprint) and outlined the process for a printer to become FSC® and PEFC certified.
We organized eco-events and green promotions and planted trees with our customers in order to contribute to a better environment.
We started a CO2 footprint calculation project in Austria. Our carbon footprint per ton of paper sold in 2009 makes up 10% (ca. 110 kg) of the total carbon footprint that is released during production and delivery of 1 ton of paper.
Last but not least we try to avoid to sell paper originating from endangered forest areas in the world in a conscious effort to help save the precious resources of our tropical forests.
